Description
A male intergrade Red-shafted and Yellow-shafted Northern Flicker perched on a suet feeder. An intergrade is a cross between a Red-shafted Northern Flicker and a Yellow-shafted Northern Flicker. One can tell if it`s a red-shafted hybrid by the red crescent patch on the nape of the neck and a male by the red patch on the cheeks. The male Yellow-shafted flickers have black cheek patches.
